Christiana I. Killian, PhD

Currently the Development Director of Villa I Tatti, The Harvard University Center for Italian Renaissance Studies, Dr. Killian has helped build support for prestigious foundations both in Europe and the US. She has held senior roles at the American Academy in Rome, the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna, the Byrn Hoffman Watermill Foundation, the American Visionary Art Museum, the Museum of the City of New York, and Intelligence Squared US. Thus, she is familiar with the challenges of fundraising for institutions based in Europe as well as in the United States. She has worked on important international fundraising events, institutional giving, and major capital campaigns. Dr. Killian holds a PhD from Union Theological Seminary, a Masters of Theological Studies from Harvard Divinity School and an M. Phil from Cambridge University. She also has BA from Barnard College (Columbia University)—a trajectory of education that speaks for her deep insight into various academic constituencies.
