We all know that a good diet helps to ensure a safe pregnancy and a healthy baby. A study of pregnant mice revealed the importance of vitamin A during embryonic development of the fetus. Lead researcher, Serge A. van de Pavert of VU University Medical Center in the Netherlands, concluded that there is a direct link between maternal nutrient intake and the formation of the immune baby’s immune system. A diet rich in vitamin A will aid in strengthening the offspring’s resistance to infection later in life.
